The Black Bay Fifty-Eight gets its name from the year 1958, in which the first TUDOR divers’ watch waterproof to 200 metres (660 ft), reference 7924 or “Big Crown”, was introduced. Among other aesthetic nods to this historic watch, the model offers a case 39 mm in diameter in keeping with the characteristic proportions of the 1950s
Snowflake Hand.... what is it and how did they come about?
The history of the snowflake hand dates all the way back to 1969. The first Tudor watches to feature the snowflake hands were the references 7021 and 7016
The reasoning behind these bold accents was to offer more surface area on the dial for luminescence, thus providing better legibility whilst scuba diving in low light conditions. Additionally, due to their distinct shapes, the hands could immediately be identified from one another, minimizing the possibility of divers mixing up the hour and minute hands while diving in murky waters.
The so-called ”snowflake hand” originally nicknamed buy collectors but now officially used by Tudor is among the most iconic and recognised element from the brand.
Since it’s launch it the Black Bay 58 has become the most sought after watch in the Tudor line up with waiting lists in every authorised dealer around the world.
It's not hard to see with its Rose Gilt features giving it that vintage look.
This example from October 2019 is in exceptional condition, with is original case side and back stickers, it’s the full set with inner and outer boxes, box sleeve, user manual, serial tag and warranty card.
