Tudor Submariner

These Tudors have gained momentum in recent years and become very popular amongst collectors especially when they are blue and it's easy to see why.

The vintage 1680 appearance for a fraction of the cost.  The blue adds something different to the Submariner, in low light appearing dark navy but really coming alive, bright and popping in the sunlight. 

Tudor Submariners were produced and sold alongside Rolex Subs back in the day.

The Tudor Sub you see here is a reference 79090 in blue from 1993. In the early '90s, Tudor reintroduced the Mercedes hands, which are present on the example you see here. This watch has the same exact build as the traditional Rolex Submariner, but with a slightly different dial layout. The crown is the same triple-lock crown with the same Oyster case. One of the awesome things about this Sub is that it still has the top hat plexiglass crystal, while Rolex had replaced these with a sapphire crystal in 1979.

Search for a 1993 Rolex Submariner and then search for one of these and see how many are available. There will be very few Tudor available in comparison particularly in this condition. The lugs are very sharp with bevels intact and showing lovely grain.

This particular watch is a great set having been in the same hands for many years.

It not only comes complete with its original folded link bracelet and end links, but also a new genuine 78500 bracelet and end links. This is basically the same as a 93150 Submariner bracelet with dive extension, the difference being the Tudor Shield on the clasp. It gives the watch more practicality with the screwed links, but also preserves the original bracelet.

Also in this set are the inner and outer boxes, warranty papers, Watches of Switzerland guarantee card, 2 x service cards, service invoice, Tudor anchor, Tudor Tag, leatherette document wallet.

This is a exceptional set and will not only just increase in value but also desirability.

It's last visit to RSC was in 2015, this watch has been checked for timekeeping and is running strong to within COSC spec.
